CV -Take 2

Ok, so after taking some comments on board, I've tried to re work this. Ive added in a little profile where I summarize some of my personal attributes. I added a summary of my education and training to include my GCSE's (although I didn't give details on what grades I got for what subject-does anyone think this matters?) I then also dropped 'Choreographers worked with' on Aicha's advise.

Did anyone else struggle to fit everything they wanted to point out onto one page? Do we think its important to try and fit it all on one, or is it ok to spread neatly over 2, and get all previous work in there?

Here's the link, again, thanks for your thoughts and comments in advance!

  1. Michelle, the CV is great, very clear and easy to read and understand. I like the table that you have used to aid the reader. I think I would try to fit it all on one A4 page though. I know that I have had a lot of trouble doing this myself but I think if you do a bit of juggling it will be possible. Maybe move your email address to the top so it's easy to find to contact you.
I think instead of making your CV longer when you get more credits you should just replace the older credits or keep the most impressive and replace the others as I don't think it necessary for the employer to know all the work you have ever done. This is just my opinion though. Maybe somebody with more knowledge and experience than myself would tell you differently. I would be quite interested to hear someone else's opinion on this as well for future reference to my own CV.
    Hope that's a help anyway,
    Best wishes, Emily

  2. Hi Mich, your CV now is so much more simple and really clear and understandable at-a-glance. I like the table you have used for your education; not only does it make it readable, the box emphasises it and so directs your attention. I completely agree it's odd how we have managed to generate such different CVs!

I think you're right about when we have to decide whether information is still valid when we are updating it. I've eventually dropped the dance school performances which I used to have on as a filler to make myself look like I had more credits - after a while I think you may end up looking desperate or unprofessional (although it shows you've been dancing a long time!) I noticed you didn't have anything from before Hammond either, and it's good, a list of clear professional credits - and you've included the 'people worked with' into those, which probably makes more sense than a stand-alone list, good job!

I've replied to your comment on my blog with directions on how to link things!
